The transformative power of salvation religions in empires like the Roman, Islamic, and Spanish is often underestimated; these empires significantly reshaped the identities of their colonial subjects through the imposition of a dominant religion and language. Exploring the early years of these empires reveals commonalities and differences in their imperial strategies and impacts. This comparative analysis highlights the of religion and language in shaping societies and contributes to understanding modern geopolitical dynamics.
